Laan Labs Announces AR Measure for iOS 11

Turn your phone into a ruler with the power of Augmented Reality

NEW YORK, NY, June 28, 2017  -- AR Measure (, a new Apple iOS App for the upcoming release of iOS 11 uses the the power of augmented reality to measure distances between points in 3D space.

With the growing potential of Augmented Reality in everyday use, Laan Labs has developed AR Measure, a virtual ruler that can measure distances using an iOS device such as an iPhone or iPad. Though the app is not publically available the company has shown a preview of the app on YouTube ( that has generated a great deal of interest.

“A Lot of the credit here goes to the brilliant engineers at Apple. Our app is built on top of the ARKit Framework that was announced at WWDC 2017,” says co-developer Laan, “That framework allows us to identify points in space using the iPhones sensors and camera input and then measure the distance between those points.”

AR Measure will be officially released in the fall with Apple releases its new OS, users are invited to sign up with their email for potential beta access and to be notified when the app is available for download at

“It's been amazing to get all this feedback from our demo video and people reaching out from different industries of how it will be useful to them,” says co-developer Will Perkins, “We are very excited to see this in the real world once Apple release iOS 11.”
